Pillar of Fire

A volcanic eruption with a lightning storm at Chiat, 1300 km. south of Santiago, Chile. Our place is fragile indeed, but in the hands of El Shaddai.

H/T AZ Dollar Bill, Combat Medic, and good person, who is also the source of the Swan picture.

Yeah. Sometimes I miss a little of the awe when we're all on about ethics and mission and such; we mustn't forget Whom we are dealing with.

Shoot, JohnieB, I was sure I'd left a note last night saying I was linking to this because these photographs are so stunning. Since I didn't last night, I am now.

Oh yes, a little awe is a good thing from time to time.

Johnie, you have been known to quote a Buddhist poet from time to time. Three names, begins with a "T." Please help?

Thich Nhat Hanh is the only name that comes to mind immediately, though he may not be thought of first as "poet".

Now you can bear witness to my woeful ignorance: yes, that is who I meant. I now know that Thich is his title. I found a shelf full of him at the library, and took out Selected Writings. He may not be a poet, but his prose is certainly lyrical.

Thanks. :)

He is a poet, and a very good one, but only another writer would think of that first! The Selected Poems is called *Call Me By My True Name*, BTw, according to the flyleaf of this other book of his'n. Jane R. is more familiar with his poetry than I.

I doubt one reader in a hundred knows that "Thich" is a title. (OCICBW)
Nonetheless, it was real to bare my witness whilst you were woeing.
