Home Sweet Home

The furniture has been here for nearly a month, so it's been long enough to acquire a more lived-in look. From the top, the Dining area (I am not responsible for the "chandelier") looking towards the entrance (on the left), the Living area from the dining table towards the fireplace, and the living area from the entrance with the kitchen and a bath in the background. Reminder: close the door on interior shots.

Congratulations, JohnieB! I'm glad you are settled in and hope you are liking the new place. It's good to have you back on the blogs!

One of the first things I am prone to do in a new house is replace the light fixtures. It usually doesn't cost much and makes a HUGE difference--to me at least--in the feel of the place.

Cheers,
Doxy

LOVE the dining set.

Now I have to come visit for one of those great JohnieB dinners with the fine wine. But I'm gonna wait till the snow is gone...

Taps foot, waiting for Spring. It's a Windsor-inspired piece. I'm partial to round tables: something to do with the Paris Peace talks in 1968, I suspect. Besides, granny had one.

Doxy,

I've been too lazy to go to New Haven for some of those Noguchi inspired Ikea lamps; they look like paper lanterns. I saw one in the catalog shaped like a manequin: too much???

P.S. The armchairs are perfect for the "grandpa of leisure" part of your self-description.

Also, the word verification thingie says "resti."

So you can be both restive and resting.

Your new home is good, Johnieb. I like the looks of it. Cozy and comfy. Don't think that I didn't click to enlarge the picture to look for dust on the furniture. ;o)
