Boeuf Bourguignon

I have just eaten the first Boeuf Bourguignon of my life, thanks to Ms. Child, Godde love and keep her--I made it myself. I don't know how it compares to others, but, if it gets any better than this, I expect to die of completely solid arteries within two years. Yeah, it's a lot of work, but it all shows up in that wonderful sauce.

Wooooooo!

Congratulations! I don't eat beef but I rejoice for you, and all hail to St. Julia!

Finishing making a very very late second half of supper (evening class, so I don't get home till a little before 11) -- not too tired and still caffeinated so I cooked - a tofu thing with onions and fresh ginger and turmeric (yes, the latter fresh too) and a bit of curry and cumin and a touch, just a touch, of garlic, and a little salt and a little cayenne, woo hoo! They had a sale on tofu at the food co-op the other day.

and a blessing be upon them, those sellers of tofu...altho with all those terrific seasonings, I suspect Ye Old Tennis Shoe would be pretty palatable also!

johnieb, I rejoice at the recollection of Boeuf Bourguignon, for reasons we've already discussed.

Oh Johnieb... that sounds delightful, even if it is not something that I would naturally eat.

You and Julia could get me to change my mind!

Blessings upon Saint Julia and upon you for making this fabulous dish. I have made it in distant years past and every now and again my ex makes it. Lovely. Just lovely. I'll bake homemade bread and bring a bottle of wine if I can come over for leftovers.

I went back for Crimson's story, which was moving and so true; it seems to take forever the first time.

As to leftovers, mmmmmm-mmmmmmm good! St Julia's recipe calls for serving 4-6, and I'll surely get 4 meals from it. I just told Kathy the Baker, who is a deep-dyed Francophile, how good her Baguettes were lightly toasted, then soaked in sauce. She's too sweet to put it this way, but the answer was something akin to "Duh!"

Yeah, Johnieb, my mouth is watering and all, and thanks be to St. Julia, but when ya gonna write something else?

I admit to a dry spell, Mimi, and also was curious as to who would nag me first!

I've just gotten a camera so as to download Empress Scarlett Tessayevna pictures to my grandson. This will bear fruit; if not now, later.

Johnieb, didn't you know who would nag you first?
