a rare weather phenomenon, which I never saw in five years there. Taken in Hastings, NE. It is caused by supersaturated air, which is much colder than that near the surface, dropping suddenly, being heavier than the warmer, drier air at the surface.
Living on the Great Plains of the U S (and, I suppose, Canada or Ukraine) is unusual; the landscape is monotonous, rarely changing very much, but the sky offers spectacular scenes that I have never seen anywhere else.
You don't want anything in particular out of life... you want it all.
You crave new and exciting experiences. And you get bored fairly easily.
Only very big cities can keep you entertained and stimulated.

Wow. Those are neat clouds.
I'm doing laundry and packing, and wishing I didn't have to.
Kristin,
know that the "Spirit of New Orleans" goes with you now, and henceforth. You are now one of their own, no matter where you are.
Laissez les bon temps roulez!
I gotta go get some stuff outa the dryer now.
Thanks, JohnieB. That helps.
I just turned the dryer back on again, after an hour left me with warm damp clothes. Nothing in this city is rushed, LOL.
I've never seen anything like that. It looks Photoshopped, Johnieb, but I believe your explanation.
Looks like the sky's been doing 'shrooms.
I just folded up two loads of laundry myself. It must be that kind of day.
Kirstin, your laundry is the laundry that care forgot. ;)
LOL, PJ!
It finally got done. And is sitting on the floor in my suitcase now. With luck, I'll put it away before I wear everything again.
They look like something from H.G. Wells. Quite disturbing.
Very Strange looking to say the least!
